Energy Fitness Professionals have recently secured the high profiled gym management contract for the Cabinet Office- Whitehall London- by tendering, and winning, against the fitness industry’s top players. The site caters for 2000 staff, which will all be eligible for gym membership. The Fitness Centre is located in the Cabinet office, adjacent to the deputy Prime Ministers office, and will also cater for members of No 10. Downing Street. The Fitness Centre takes up approximately 1500 sqft. The equipment is manufactured by Life Fitness. There are 26 stations in the gym which will consist of 10 pieces of resistance equipment, and 11 pieces of cardiovascular equipment. In addition to this there will be stations for abdominal development, assisted with high quality abdominal crunch equipment, and Core Strength Fit Ball areas. There will also be a free weight area, as well as a studio offering a wide range of exercise classes. The Fitness Centre will also have a cardio theatre system, a wireless state of the art stereo system allowing each gym member his/her individual choice of music to the workout. The Fitness Centre will be open Monday – Friday and the members will pay a monthly membership fee. The process of setting up the Fitness Centre has been under way for a few months and have encountered some unusual obstacles. The Fitness Centre is actually set in an old underground bank vault and has presented the building company with problems, not least the amount of diamond drill tips they have gone through during the building process.
