Creating a workplace gym that genuinely stands out takes more than a smart layout and good equipment. It requires a concept that feels current, engaging and capable of offering something people would not normally expect to find in a corporate setting. That was the thinking behind one of our recent London insurance projects, where we helped shape a new fitness environment built around a more premium and experience-led offer.

At the centre of that project was the introduction of what we described as the UK’s first Peloton Studio within a corporate gym environment. This gave the space a very different feel from a standard workplace fitness facility. Rather than simply providing members with somewhere to train, the studio helped create a more immersive experience, combining high-quality design, digital access and a fitness product with strong brand recognition.

What made the project especially interesting was that Peloton was not treated as a standalone feature. It formed part of a wider wellbeing offer designed to make the space more relevant to modern working life. Alongside the studio, the gym environment also included a member app, access to additional wellbeing services such as treatments and therapies, and a broader health and wellbeing events programme.

Together, these elements helped create a facility that felt more complete, more contemporary and far more engaging for the people using it.

This kind of development also reflects a wider shift in expectations.

Employers are increasingly looking for workplace fitness spaces that feel modern, distinctive and capable of appealing to a broader cross-section of employees. By bringing Peloton into a corporate environment in this way, the project demonstrated how a gym can become more than a facility. It can become a destination within the workplace and a visible expression of a company’s investment in employee wellbeing.

The result was a workplace fitness space with a much stronger identity. It showed how corporate gyms can move beyond the traditional model and become environments that feel aspirational, flexible and genuinely connected to the wider wellbeing needs of a workforce. For us, the project was an important example of how innovation in workplace fitness is not always about doing more, but about doing things differently and with greater purpose.
