On the 30th May 2007, Energy Fitness Professionals attended the LSC London Region Apprenticeship Awards at the Savoy Hotel. The Learning and Skills Council recognise both employees and employers who make an exceptional contribution to London’s global competitiveness. EFP were selected by a panel of judges as one of 18 finalists from over a hundred entrants across London for the awards. London director of the LSC, David Hughes says: “These awards have shown that high-quality training like Apprenticeships can have a big impact on people’s futures. Some finalists have said that their apprenticeship changed their lives and allowed them to find their true potential, often undiscovered at school. Training gives people control over their own future. We’re happy to recognize their achievements.” There are two awards for employers who have invested in Apprenticeships as part of a staff development strategy. These are: the Employer of the Year and the Large Employer of the Year. Out of the finalists, EFP were highly commended for the Employer of the Year award. Alan Gallacher, Director, says: “Although we didn’t win the award, to be selected as a finalist from over 100 entrants and to be highly commended is a great achievement and shows EFP’s commitment to investing in their employees.” About the Learning and Skills Council Apprenticeships Programme: The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) funds and promotes Apprenticeships. There are currently approximately 12,000 young people aged 16-24 undertaking an Apprenticeship in about 60 different sectors of industry and commerce in London.
