Members of Energy Fitness Professionals fitness centres from across the UK took part in a week of challenges and events to raise money for Sport Relief. Over 100 members from across 7 sites took part in the charity events, and they managed to raise a total of £1476. From inter-site fitness challenges, to cake sales, to the dreaded Bleep Test, members were keen to don their gym kit, have some fun, and more importantly raise money for a very worthy cause. The week saw some great personal achievements, with members taking part in events that they hadn’t tried before, including the more light-hearted and very amusing Hula Hoop Challenge! There was also a multi-discipline challenge between teams from QinetiQ Malvern and QinetiQ Farnborough which involved cycling, running and rowing. Farnborough beat Malvern by 6.5 miles, and this event alone raised over £400 for the charity. By getting involved in Sport Relief, no matter how big or small the contribution, everyone played a part in helping to change the World. All of the money raised will be spent by Sport Relief to transform lives here in the UK, and across the World’s poorest countries. Alan Gallacher, Director of Energy Fitness Professionals, says, “I am very proud of what has been achieved across our sites. We had a very successful week of challenges, and we are already looking forward to a bigger and better Sport Relief in 2011.”
